THE DEFENDER PERSONAL PROTECTOR

The Defender Alarm being set up

The Defender Alarm measures less than 18 cm's (7 inches) when assembled, and weighs app 112 grammes (4 ozs).

As a result of the advertising for the Commando MKI Intruder Alarm, there were requests for oddball offshoots, most being impractical with a few being interesting; one of which was for a blank-firing machine gun for a member of the re-enactment fraternity.

Materials were bought and a prototype for one section was made before it was discovered that there were insufficient funds in the client’s bank account to purchase the completed article. Many months went by before the penny dropped that we had a device for personal protection.

Not in any way could the device resemble a pistol and thus prompting a response from the armed police squad, but the sound at 120 decibels of a pistol shot is enough to frighten off any intruder, attacker or malcontent intent on depriving the victim of their personal possessions or making an assault on the person.

In the course of the protracted development which besets all new inventions while any gremlins are eliminated, interested observers saw possibilities for use of the alarm in other fields and recent reports in the press and on television have added a few more, namely 3 deaths of footpath walkers by trampling from cattle and attacks by dogs which could have been avoided by the use of the ‘Defender’ Personal Protector. Among additional suggestions that have been made include dog training, sports meetings, bird scaring, gamekeeper beaters, people lost while out of mobile ‘phone range, or trapped and needing to attract attention, car rage deterrent, household security, or as a last resort a useful cosh and so on.

The ‘Defender’ is British made from the finest materials and is expected to work in the most inclement conditions.  Overall length is app 16.5 cm (6.5 ins) and it is lightweight at app 112 grammes (4 ozs) unloaded. It is delivered complete with five 9mm/.38ins blank cartridges, replacements of which can be obtained from any gun shop, together with an adaptor and ten percussion caps for the timid who are averse to loud noises.

The clear instructions really should be  read and understood before use – not that there is anything complex to set-up the device – but as the words chiselled in granite say – “When all else fails, please read the instructions”.

At all times do not hold the loaded alarm by the chamber end and do not discharge near the face, bare skin or inflammable conditions.  Sparks are emitted which although not dangerous could sting exposed skin and ignite petrol fumes.

The Defender comes complete with five 3/8inch/9mm blank cartridges and ten percussion caps.

The Defender Personal Protector alarm does not need a licence.
