THE ROPER RED-EYE ALERT SYSTEM
It is understood that the most frequent method to gain access to a trailer is to cut the tilt/TIR cord and roll up the sheet. After rolling the sheet back down, the tilt cord is then reconnected with quick acting glue.
To combat this threat, the Roper Red-Eye Alert System is formed of 4 parts:
Should the cord or air supply be interferred with in any way, the eyeball indicator will INSTANTLY change FROM the secure status colour GREEN TO insecure status RED, which can be easily seen up to approximately 100ft away thus attracting the attention of POLICE, IMMIGRATION and CUSTOMS.
The small air reservoir and the eyeball indicator are housed in a strong metal support casing that protects the secure connections to the pressurised cord from being easily tampered with. The support casing, which measures app 13.5 cm (5.25 inch) wide by app 29 cm (11.25 inch) high by app 5.5 cm (2.25 inch) deep, also carries the lockable metal bar.
The adapted tilt/TIR cord carries pressurised air (approximately 7 bar/105 lbs) from the small air reservoir to the extent of the cord. The cord is delivered already pressurised, but it can be re-pressurised from a forecourt airline, or a tyre inflator, after removing the locked protective bar.
There are no complex connections and most fittings are standard. A competent garage fitter will be able to easily install the system and to fit replacement cords if and when required.
THE ROPER RED-EYE ALERT SYSTEM is from the stable of Bill Roper, the inventor of the famous Commando MK1 intruder alarm, and follows the same positive design technique of NO ELECTRONICS and NO ELECTRICS to give false readings.
THE ROPER RED-EYE ALERT SYSTEM assists the driver and the operator to meet the requirements of the Code of Practice. However, since the driver is only required to include observation of the eyeball indicator as he carries out his NORMAL frequent inspection of the tilt/TIR cord, there is NO ADDITIONAL DRIVER intervention.
THE ROPER RED-EYE ALERT SYSTEM is low priced at a cost of ONLY £205 for a complete 34.5 metre system comprising: pressurised tilt/TIR cord and ready assembled air reservoir, eyeball indicator, casing and fittings.
